The one mukhi Rudraksha, mother of all rudrakshas, is the best and most powerful of
rudrakshas. It has one facet only. It can be round or crescent shaped. The former is
rare and the latter is popularly available in India and Sri Lanka. The ruling planet
of this bead is the Sun.
It enhances the confidence and focus of the wearer. There is an increase in leadership
qualities and personal power. One starts working towards material gains.
This bead nullifies the malefic effects of the Sun. These are normally related to
ailments of the right eye, head ache, ear ailments, bowel problems, bone weakness,
heart problems etc. All obstacles in the path of worldly pleasures are removed, and
the bead helps one attain perfection in after life.
Goddess Lakshmi bestows her blessings on the wearer of the one mukhi rudraksha.
This bead is the symbol of Lord Rudra, Lord Shiva and Lord Shankara. It can be
obtained by their grace only.
This bead bestows prosperity on the devotees. It leads to enlightenment, truth and
eternity. One attains the highest state of spirituality with ease. It bestows health,
wealth and mental peace. It gives material pleasures, but also nurtures a feeling of
detachment simultaneously. It helps in decision making, enhances confidence, and gives
leadership qualities. It removes obstacles from the path of worldly pleasures and also
simultaneously detaches one from worldly affairs. It enlightens the super consciousness
and bestows a peaceful life. This rudraksha can be worn by doctors.
A special puja can be offered for the one mukhi rudraksha on the Ashtam tithi of the
lunar month of Chaitra, in the bright half. This Rudraksha is worshipped by offering
108 red coloured flowers. An oil lamp should be lit and essence should be burnt. The
Rudraksha should be smeared with the paste of Sandalwood and camphor. Each of 108
flower should be offered while chanting the mantra. This worship should be repeated on
Deepawali day, once again. This rudraksha should be capped in Gold or Silver and worn
round the neck or be placed in the puja room. The auspicious day for wearing this
Rudraksha is Monday.

As per Classics:
MahaPuranam Srimad Devi Bhagavatam by Maharshi Veda Vyasa
(Book IX Chapter VII)
One-faced Rudraksha reveals Paratattva (the highest Tattva); when worn, the knowledge
of the highest Tattva arises; the Brahma is seen then.
Shiva Purana
(Chapter XXV)
64. A Rudraksha of a single face is Shiva Himself. It bestows worldly pleasures and
salvation. The sin of Brahmin slaughter is washed off at its mere sight.
65. Where it is adored, Fortune cannot be far off. Harm and harassments perish.
All desires are fulfilled.
Padma Purana
(Shrishti Kand Chapter 57)
Ek mukhi (one facet) is Lord Shiva incarnate, it absolves the sin of committing murder
of a Brahmin (Brahman-Hatya). It must be therefore worn over body and this (action)
absolves the person of all the sins committed. Thereafter, the wearer of one mukhi
rudraksha goes to Shiva loka (the abode of Lord Shiva) and lives happily with Lord
Shiva himself. This requires kind patronage of Lord Shiva to get such a resultant
situation (after several events). O Shadanan (six headed one)! A dying person wearing
one mukhi rudraksha gets nirvana (gets out of cycle of birth & death).
Rudraksha Jabalopanishad
Lord Kalagnirudra said: The bead with one face is of the form of the Supreme Truth.
A disciplined one (controlling his senses) mingles himself with the one Eternal Truth,
after wearing these Rudrakshas.
